In a recent development, the festival, supported by the General Directorate of Cinema under Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, announced an extension of the deadline for applications to its national and international film competitions. Filmmakers now have until November 24 to submit their entries, as per the foundation's statement.

A major highlight of the festival is the National Feature Film Competition, where the Best Film will be awarded the grand prize along with the coveted “Golden Dolphin.” This year, the prize money for the Golden Dolphin stands at an impressive 200,000 Turkish lira (approximately $7,000).

The jury, following thorough evaluations, will present awards across various categories, including Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Cinematographer, and Best Editing. These awards reflect the festival's commitment to recognizing excellence in different facets of filmmaking.

Samed Karagoz, the festival’s artistic director, expressed in a statement that their support for cinema is not only steadfast but also increasing, highlighted by the enhanced prize amounts in all competition categories.

Adding to the roster of awards, the national competition will feature the Best First Film Award, supported by Akli Film with a cash prize, and the FIYAB Best Producer Award, backed by the Film Producers' Professional Association (FIYAB).
