What happens when a man with nothing to lose decides to take justice into his own hands? Şahsiyet (Persona) is a dark, psychological thriller that delves into themes of morality, revenge, and the blurred lines between justice and crime.

This critically acclaimed Turkish series is a masterclass in storytelling, featuring a powerful narrative, complex characters, and an unforgettable performance by Haluk Bilginer—which earned him the International Emmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor in 2019.

Plot Summary: A Serial Killer with a Tragic Secret

At the center of the story is Agâh Beyoğlu, a retired judicial clerk who lives a quiet life in Istanbul. One day, he finds his beloved cat dead and learns from the vet that it died due to negligence. This seemingly minor event sets off a chain reaction that changes his life forever.

Shortly after, Agâh is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, meaning he will soon forget everything—including any crimes he commits. Faced with this reality, he decides to take justice into his own hands, using his knowledge from old case files to track down and eliminate those who have escaped justice.

Meanwhile, Nevra Elmas, the only female detective in the homicide department, struggles with sexist harassment from her colleagues. Despite giving interviews to the press, she never speaks about the challenges she faces at work.

Unbeknownst to her, Agâh has been following her career closely. As he carries out his murders, he leaves behind a chilling signature—writing "Nevra" on the foreheads of his victims, forcing the detective to confront a dark past she thought she had escaped.
