Derya Cebecioğlu was born on October 24, 2000, in Mersin, Turkey. She joined VakıfBank’s youth academy at the age of 14, where she developed her volleyball skills and achieved success at both national and international levels.
She played for VakıfBank’s youth teams and represented Turkey’s junior national team, earning multiple accolades. In the 2018 U20 European Championship, she was named Best Outside Hitter, and in the 2019 U20 World Championship, she became the tournament’s Top Scorer.
In 2018, she was promoted to VakıfBank’s senior team, contributing to their 2018-19 Turkish Sultanlar League and 2018 FIVB Club World Championship victories. That same season, VakıfBank also finished third in the 2018-19 CEV Women's Champions League.
Cebecioğlu later played on loan for Yeşilyurt, helping the team win the 2021 CEV Challenge Cup. She returned to VakıfBank for the 2021-22 season, where she contributed to the team’s victory in the 2021 FIVB Women's Club World Championship.
