He participated in all university theater productions organized by Boğaziçi University Players for several years. Open Radio began employing Sertab Erener as a broadcaster during 1997. The stage became the perfect destiny for him when his acting enthusiasm reached its peak leading him to perform at Studio Players Theater in Nişantaşı. In 2012 he joined Bilgi University Performing Arts Department to instruct acting and diction classes to students.

TRT contracted him as a voice actor while he launched his screenwriting career after 2000. Moreover he wrote scripts for TV shows Bir İstanbul Masalı, Hırsız Polis and Bıçak Sırtı which became popular TV series.

The public took notice of the actor in 2017 for playing Enver Sarıkadı in the popular TV show Kadın. During 2021 he took on the role of Adil İpekoğlu in Camdaki Kız which brought Gülseren Budayıcıoğlu's novel to the television screens. Through his transformative skills in screenwriting and acting he has achieved strong recognition within the Turkish entertainment business.

With his deep experience in theater, television, and cinema, Şerif Erol remains one of Turkey's most respected and accomplished actors and writers. His contributions to the entertainment industry continue to inspire audiences and aspiring actors alike.

Şerif Erol was born on October 8, 1963 in Karşıyaka İzmir Turkey. The path which led Şerif Erol to become an actor and writer developed in an unusual manner. His physics teacher predicted failure to become a physicist and this statement motivated him to focus on studying physics. After starting at Boğaziçi University's Faculty of Science and Literature he understood his genuine love was for something different. He decided to pursue economics at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences before receiving his degree.
